But I might disappear tomorrow. Or - or something could happen. Or I'm just nuts for not wanting to do it now! [He sighs again, a tad dramatic.] Twenty years of not even anyone batting an eyelash my way, and then I get sexually propositioned twice in a year's span. [A pause.] Not by the same person.

[extraverse]

You have come more into your own these last couple years.

[He's super curious about who the other person is now. He'll have to remember to ask some other time.]

The truth is that any one of us could disappear, or meet an untimely end, that does not mean we should rush into a situation we haven't prepared for. The fact that you requested more time and she respected that is something to cherish. It says you've a relationship built on trust and mutual respect.

[Damn it Iggy, let him be unreasonably hard on himself about this!

But there is a little more to it than he's letting on. Ignis's counterargument leaves Prompto little room to say anything against it, aside from what's actually really bothering him about this. There's a stretch of silence before Prompto finally speaks again.]

It's the why I'm not ready that I think is getting me. I get what you're saying, but... [Boy this is going to turn into a much harder conversation.] You said I told you guys everything about my origins, right? So you know what I am. But Saoirse doesn't, and I don't know... I don't know if I should tell her, or how she'd react if I do.

I feel like I should. I feel like I'm not being honest with her by keeping it from her. Like, that's a big thing to not tell someone.

[extraverse]

[Ignis can understand where he's coming from, but he thinks that in order to have this conversation they would have to start by explaining things like cloning. She may not have the tools to understand the implications.

But then, she might just support Prompto unconditionally, and that would help him with his confidence.]

I'll help you, if you'd like.

Like, actually talk to her with me? Or just help me figure out what to say?

[extraverse]

Whichever you like.

I... I should probably talk to her alone about it, but I could use the help figuring out what to say. If I ever get the nerve to talk to her about it.

[extraverse]

You are going to have to explain quite a bit to her, I'd imagine - depending on how detailed you'd like to make it.

I doubt Thedas has a point of reference for the type of science involved in your creation, but you might be able to explain it in terms of escaping a terrible childhood. [He realizes he's probably coming off as a little cold, as this version of Prompto hasn't had a lot of time to adjust to him knowing the details, let alone having to explain it to anyone else.]

I'll help you with the wording as much as I can, and I'll be here afterwards if you need someone with whom to discuss the outcome.

That's what's hanging me up a bit. I mean, even I don't totally get how cloning works, let alone explaining it to someone from Thedas who doesn't even know what a laboratory is. [Well, not the kind of lab he's familiar with, anyway.] Gotta figure it out somehow.

[He sighs softly. But there's a smile with it.] Thanks, Iggy. I don't know how I'd do it without ya.

Evidence suggests you would do fine on your own. You have for the past year.

Though it never hurts to have the help of one's friends.

That was with a lot of help from other people. I'd probably have starved out in the middle of a field somewhere if it hadn't been for them.

If that is the case, then I owe them all my thanks. Though I doubt it's as simple as that.
